A Biblical Case for Burning Books

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25, [NIV]

Our duty is to magnify God’s name and His good works. Come and be filled by the word and fellowship here with us or at any one of the churches that praise and worship the only True & Living God.

Rev. Justin Bailey Anderson, associate minister at the Christ Community Church of Lockport, NY, delivers the sermon for this week on “A Biblical Case for Burning Books;” Click link above to listen. The heart verses for the lesson text is from Acts 19:17-20 (The New Testament Historical Book of Acts, Chapter 19, from verse 17-20). Our prayer is that God may so richly bless the hearing and hearer of His word.

Acts 19:17-20 King James Version (KJV)

17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
