Words of Encouragement

Greetings saints,

To god be the glory, great things He has done.  God has truly been good to us.  He has blessed Delaware to see 130 years of serving God and the community.  My prayer is that this website will serve as a reminder that each of you have an important part in God’s sovereign plan for our church and community.

Jesus said in the great commission, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even until the end of the world, Amen (Matthew 28:19 & 20).  As you look over the faces of our congregation, it is evident that the diversity of race and ethnicity here at Delaware is one of our many strengths.  The Bible says that on the day of Pentecost, when the church was born, “there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under Heaven” (Acts 2:5).  What a pleasant reminder that we can all worship, praise, and serve the Lord together, in one accord, as God intended.

So I embrace the theme of past leaders of this church, which was quoted by the prophet Isaiah, for Delaware Avenue Baptist Church is truly, “A house of prayer for all people” (Isa. 56:7).

May God continue to bless us all,

Pastor Michael J. Robinson
