There is no greater time than right now to join us as we set out to preserve this historical and beautiful edifice. Friends of Delaware have established the Delaware Avenue Restoration Corporation. Through this corporation and its board, you can be a blessing, not only to us but, to the community we serve.
This edifice sponsors and supports many programs throughout the year. Biennially, we host a Health Fair welcoming the entire community. This event provides people the opportunity to receive free health screenings: Free flu shots, Cholesterol & Glucose Testing, Diabetes, Cardiovascular, Kidney Disease, and Blood Pressure screenings, Breast Cancer & Testicular Cancer Screening, and in previous years there were Presentations from MAN UP, ECDOH, LA FITNESS, how to do CPR in the Fellowship Hall. The Health Fair will take place in the Fall 2016.
Delaware Avenue Baptist Church’s Women of Faith Ministry has reestablished The Care Closet which is open every Sunday after worship service. And it is open and free to the public! Here, you can receive a blessing or be a blessing. The room is set up like a store with clothing hung up, as well as, hygiene items… If you need something for yourself or the whole family (Men, Women, and Children) it is available here and they are new or gently used items and beautiful.
Annually, we host the Spring Concert in the Sanctuary which sponsors the Youth Scholarship Fund. As admittance is free for this event so that all can come and enjoy the songs and sound of Zion funding comes only from free-will donations.
Additionally, the edifice is utilized to raise funds, collect and bag hygiene items, as well as, to knit and crotchet blankets and hats with the for the Annual Honorees Banquet for the Homeless Men, Women, & Children of the Buffalo Community.
