5. Youth Ministry Meetings Fourth Friday of Each Month @ 6PM
This week, Friday, May 26 @ 6PM, youth will meet and there will be prayer and interactive skits to impart and reinforce biblical teachings. Great fun in store. Youth Sunday will be the third week of June and the youth will meet more often as the date approaches to prepare.
There are many members participating in the coordination of events, but more minds set to work and come up with new ideas are always welcome. The young people meet at 6pm every other Friday for bible study, crafts, movies, games, and field trips. See upcoming events section for more details. See Sister Sharon Savanna for more details on how to get involved or if transportation for your young person if needed. For young people 7-19, younger members do participate with the attendance/assistance of their parents and guardians.
6. THEATER MINISTRY
Sister Doris Boyd, musician; June Duell, director; Beverly Crowell, secretary; and Terry Poehler, stage manager will start a Theatre Ministry at Delaware Avenue Baptist Church. If you have desire to sing, act, write, dance, assist with scenery, sewing, or lighting, please see anyone of these people after service. They are currently collecting funds for the Jonah play at the Sights and Sounds Theatre this August 2017.
7. Music Ministry
We now have six choirs! In addition to the Delaware Choir, Ensemble Chorus, and Men’s Chorus, there is the Youth Choir, Sunbeam Choir, and of course, a Mass Choir. Please consider joining one of the choirs, of course, there’s always room for you.
8. Children’s Church / Youth Classroom
Volunteers are always needed to go up with our young people for Children’s Church and Youth Classroom. If we had 16 participants you’ll only need you to go up 6 times a year. You would teach/lead bible based discussions in our classrooms for younger members: emerging readers, 4-8: youth, 9-12. You can use the www.rightnow.org/media as a teaching resource, you’re favorite story, bible passage, verse or what have you as a guide. Praise the Lord! We also still need more participants for the nursery which takes children from 2 months to 4 years old.
9. National Youth & Children’s Sunday
Every year our church provides our young people with the opportunity take many of the responsibilities of the Worship Service. The youth and parents work with advisors to explain the ministry they’ll serve (Ushers board, music ministry, prayer leader, worship leader, scripture reading, welcome, announcements, etc.), nearly everything but, the Sermon which is left in the hands of our Youth Pastor or Guest Pastor. It always takes place in June. If you would like to participate please speak to Sister Sharon Savannah.
10. Seasoned Saints Ministry
The Seasoned Saints ministry meets every 3rd Thursday of the month, unless otherwise noted. They meet for lunch, study, and fellowship.
11. Kitchen Ministry
The kitchen ministry has on divisions based on your availability. There’s a group that alternates to serve food and clean up after Worship Service for our weekly Fellowship and another that only participates with Repast for activities, events, and funerals as they arise.
Help is always needed some where and dedication is certainly appreciated.
